Jasminka was using her living room to pamper her clients, while her basement stood unfinished. When the decision came to move her business to the basement, we had a few things to consider. It’s rare that we get a blank canvas to work with, so we were able to design the space so that it suited Jasminka’s business perfectly. We chose everything from flooring to lighting, and properly considered spatial flow and psychologically sensitive finishes to suit a gentle and relaxing multipurpose room for Jasminka’s many treatments. The family wouldn’t be there forever, so we couldn’t do anything too architecturally colossal. The ledgestone fireplace creates a visual separation from the two areas of the spa, and gives a warm comfortable feeling by introducing the element of fire. This will also serve as a wonderful focal point for a possible future rec room. With keeping Jasminka’s clients in mind, we created a peaceful and intuitive spa design.
